The mission of BridgePoints is to empower students by providing their first industry opportunities through hands-on, real-world training in emerging and in-demand fields. We bridge the gap between education and industry by offering mentorship, internships, and project-based learning experiences, ensuring that all students—regardless of their school, background, or resources—can gain meaningful professional experience.
By removing barriers such as school affiliation, transportation, and economic or social limitations, we strive to create an inclusive and equitable pathway to success. Through collaboration with businesses and educators, we are building a sustainable ecosystem where students develop the skills, confidence, and connections needed to thrive in their careers.
BridgePoints Partners with Your School
We collaborate directly with schools and hire displaced CTE teachers as local program managers. They serve as the official point of contact for all on-campus internships.
CTE Teacher Acts as Project Manager
Under Nevada Revised Statutes—specifically NRS 391.104 and NRS 388A.515—any adult working or communicating directly with K–12 students must undergo fingerprinting and a full background check, unless already licensed by the Nevada Superintendent of Public Instruction.
BridgePoints addresses this by designating the school’s licensed CTE teacher as the project manager—the sole point of contact between students and industry professionals. This model mirrors common industry practice, where a project manager guides communication and deliverables between clients and teams.
Many CTE teachers hold a Business & Industry (B&I) license, having come directly from professional careers in their fields. Their industry background—combined with their educational certification—makes them uniquely qualified to manage technical projects, relay requirements, and mentor students through authentic, real-world challenges.
This structure not only ensures legal compliance but also empowers students to learn under the guidance of experienced professionals in a school-safe environment.
Industry Partners Deliver Internships Safely
Industry professionals—engineers, designers, or software developers—share real-world projects and mentorship through the established school intern program. All communication and coordination runs through the teacher, keeping students legally and safely sealed from direct contact until proper vetting is confirmed.
Students Receive Approved Experience
All internship details—including hours, tasks, and learning objectives—are relayed to the students via the teacher, ensuring compliance, clarity, and consistency.
This structure removes the barrier that typically prevents unlicensed mentors from working with students, while still offering authentic, supervised industry experiences.
Summary
By appointing the licensed CTE teacher as project manager, BridgePoints ensures compliance with state law (NRS 391.104 and NRS 388A.515) while delivering high-quality, real-world internships conducted by industry professionals. The result: safe, scalable, compliant opportunities for students without overwhelming schools or businesses.
